Which would win in a race, a 2002 porsche boxster or a 2010 camaro? both stock?
i dont know, the most basic model of both. and lets say a one mile straighaway
What do you mean by "a race?" Straight line quarter mile? Longer road course?

Recently Top Gear ran a "Coxster," as they called it (Porsche Cayman: Coupe Boxster - ha, ha), around their road course and declared it slightly faster than a Corvette. This was not even the Cayman S. In a straight line quarter mile "race" the base Corvette (There are three different Corvettes.) would destroy a base Cayman. Your question, as asked, cannot be answered; it is incomplete.

OK. One mile straight race. Let's see:
2010 LT or LS Camaro - 3.6 litre V6, 300 HP, 273 lb-ft torque, 3,769 pounds, six speed manual transmission (auto also available)
2002 Porsche Boxster - 2.7 litre flat six, 217 HP, 192 lb-ft torque, 2,811 pounds, five speed manual (auto also available)
The math.
12.56 lbs/HP for the Chevy
12.95 lbs/HP for the Porsche

The race.
Given its torque advantage, the Chevy comes out of the chute a little faster (tires, weather, driver, etc. being equal). At the quarter mile, the six speed Camaro (6.0 seconds) is edging the older Porsche (6.4 seconds) and its five speed. Nearing a full mile, things are fairly close; however the higher top speed of the Porsche - 160 mph versus 155 (electronically governed) for the Camaro - makes this hard to call. The Porsche is probably out front, and will surely win if the race goes on much longer.
NOTE: Throw one good turn into this mile race and the obese, high center-of-gravity Camaro rolls over and plays dead.
