Which one should i use in a smartr roadster? 97 oct. or 100?
Got a smart roadster. The manufacturer says it needs to run on 98 oct. The problem is i can't find 98 oct. I can either get 97 or 100, the question is which one is better for the cute but small engine of my roadster?

You have 2 problems. You usually follow manufacturer requirements or go better..But if you run 100 oct in that auto your maintenance costs will go up. 100 is designed for higher compression engines. In yours the spark plugs may tend to foul with slow speed driving. I would first try the 97. If you or your passenger can here any pinging under acceleration with a loaded auto, then you have pre-ignition & need higher octane fuel. There are additives you can use to raise the octane.
